I’ve been training in the Martial Arts, specifically Tang Soo Do, for 25 years. My oldest brother began training the same year I was born, and I officially started when I was 5 years old. I’m currently a 2nd degree black belt and assistant instructor at my brother’s karate studio in Colorado. Growing up in Connecticut, I was lucky to have an instructor with great interest in many styles of martial arts. He trains in several styles, and often brought in guest instructors. This gave me exposure to Capoeira, Modern Arnis (aka Kali/Eskrima/Stick Fighting), Tai Chi, Aikido, and more. Other than Tang Soo Do, I thoroughly enjoy learning Modern Arnis the most.
I’m also a freelance web designer and media manager. I run a couple of Tang Soo Do studio’s websites, and help manage their SEO and marketing.
So why did I start this blog? Because I have opinions and enjoy writing. Why else does anyone become a blogger? Martial Arts is a huge part of my life, and I enjoy researching and talking about it.
